Just In: “ I wish Him well” -Peter Obi finally reacts to Tinubu’s democracy day fall

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has finally broken his silence on President Bola Tinubu’s fall at the Eagles Square, the venue of the 2024 Democracy Day celebration.

In a message posted on his official social media handle, Obi called for compassion, empathy, and unity in the pursuit of a brighter future for Nigeria.

Obi wrote, “I was saddened to learn of President Tinubu’s unfortunate fall today. I wish him well. We achieve nothing by gloating about an accident that could well happen to any of us.

We are all human beings, and while we profoundly disagree on how to move Nigeria forward, we must remember our common human frailty.

“Let us stay focused on the issues that will lead to a new Nigeria. May this moment serve as a poignant reminder of our shared humanity and the need for compassion, empathy, and unity in our pursuit of a brighter future for our great nation.”

Earlier, Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had also sympathized with Tinubu following his fall.

He said, “I sincerely sympathise with President Bola Tinubu, @officialABAT, over this unfortunate incident as he was set to review the parade on Democracy Day. I do hope that all is well with him.”

The incident occurred when President Tinubu slipped while boarding the parade vehicle at the Eagles Square. His security details and aides quickly rushed to his aid, assisting him in regaining his balance.

Deep Stories reports that Tinubu’s Special Adviser on social media, Dada Olusegun, downplayed concerns, insisting that there are no issues with the President’s health.
